Who doesn’t love a Zoom meeting? You can sleep in, show up to work in your boxers and most importantly avoid a lot of unwanted germs. Professionals around the world got used to Zoom meetings in 2020, and they’ve now become part of the modern workplace. But all that video calling has also led to plenty of hilarious Zoom fails.

Whether knee-slapping or cringe-worthy, we can’t help but appreciate some of the funniest Zoom fails to be shared on the web. Zoom meetings have become a normal part of the modern professional workplace. Some love it, others hate it, and we all better get used to it. Want to avoid your own Zoom meeting fails? Consider the following tips to improve your Zoom meeting experience:

  • Invest in a webcam cover – A privacy product that’s placed directly over a device’s camera, a webcam cover helps prevent webcam espionage, but it can also help you ensure you’re not recording video during a Zoom call when you don’t intend to.
  • Use noise-canceling headphones – Want to eliminate distractions during your Zoom meetings? Noise-canceling headphones monitor the sounds around you, preventing unwanted noise from reaching your ears.
  • Lock your office door – While kids and pets are a cute distraction, it’s hard to run professional meetings with unexpected visitors barging into the Zoom meeting. You can buy a simple lock for your office door.
  • Don’t rely on backgrounds – Virtual backgrounds are fun, and they make it easier to have professional Zoom meetings, but don’t rely on them completely. Keep anything chaotic, messy, and inappropriate out of frame. Otherwise, a failed virtual background could result in a lost job.
  • Wear pants – You might not plan to stand up or have anything below the waist appear during your Zoom meeting, but we bet neither did any of the poor unfortunate professionals in the Zoom fails above. Better to err on the side of caution and at least wear something more than underwear.

    Samantha: If you a blogger, could you wear PJ pants? Have you heard about the story about Dan Rather, and how bloggers exposed CBS’s fake document? This happened back in the day (2004). A blogger network then started, with the name Pajamas Media, as a reference to the following quote:

    “A former vice president of CBS News, Jonathan Klein, dismissed the allegations of bloggers, suggesting that the “checks and balances” of a professional news organization were superior to those of individuals sitting at their home computers “in their pajamas”.” (quote from Wikipedia)
